Grandstream GAPS Service Retirement and Next Steps
Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for using the Grandstream Auto Provisioning Service (GAPS). We would like to let you know that GAPS will be retired in phases beginning Feb 1, 2027. To help you continue provisioning and managing Grandstream devices, we recommend that all GAPS users begin using the Grandstream Device Management System (GDMS).
GDMS is Grandstream's cloud-based device management platform. Along with device provisioning, it offers centralized monitoring, firmware management, remote diagnostics and multi-site administration. We believe these features will make managing Grandstream devices easier and more efficient.
GAPS Retirement Schedule
To give you plenty of time to prepare, the retirement will happen in two phases:
- Creating new users and adding new devices will no longer be supported.
- Existing configurations will no longer be editable.
- Devices already managed in GAPS will continue to receive their current configurations as usual.
- The GAPS service will no longer be available.
- GAPS will stop processing provisioning requests. Devices still pointing to GAPS will no longer receive configuration updates.
Recommended Actions
To help keep provisioning service for your Grandstream devices running without interruption, we kindly suggest completing the following steps well before the retirement date:
- Get started with GDMS. Sign in or create a free GDMS account at https://www.gdms.cloud and explore the platform's provisioning and management features.
- Set up your devices and configurations on GDMS. GDMS works differently from GAPS, so we recommend reviewing your current provisioning setup and recreating it in GDMS as needed. Please visit documentation center for GDMS documentations.
- Test and verify. Please confirm that your devices provision correctly through GDMS before September 30, 2027.
If you have any questions or would like help getting started with GDMS, please feel free to contact us through the Grandstream Helpdesk.
We sincerely appreciate your continued trust in Grandstream Networks and apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. Our team is committed to making your experience with GDMS as smooth as possible.
Sincerely,
Grandstream Networks, Inc.
